The first of two anthologies of the best fairy tales for seven year olds, compiled by Lisa M. Ripperton. Of the 36 fairy tales included in this anthology, 3 come from Andersen, 6 from Grimm, 7 from Howard Pyle's The Wonder Clock, and 4 from Lang. The remaining 16 tales in this collection were selected from a wide variety of sources for their appeal to children of this age.
